Scientific and research activities in the university are supervised and coordinated by the scientific council of the university acting as part of the institute (hereinafter referred to as the "scientific council").
The Scientific Council is accountable to the Academic Council of the University.
The Scientific Council consists of permanent and temporary members.
Permanent members of the Scientific Council are:
Depending on the content and needs of the discussed issues, temporary members may be invited to the Council. The chairman of the board determines the need and identity of the temporary member.
Depending on the content and needs of the discussed issues, representatives of the quality assurance service and the financial service may be invited to the council. The need to invite them is determined by the Chairman of the Scientific Council.
The scientific council is convened by the chairman of the council.
To fully implement their functions, if necessary, temporary, and permanent commissions are created within the Scientific Council. The chairman of the Scientific Council determines the need and composition of commissions.
The functions of the Scientific Council are:
a) supervision and coordination of scientific and research activities in the university.
b) listening to annual and special reports on the ongoing scientific activities and research projects at the university.
c) organization of university annual and extraordinary scientific conferences.
d) Initiating, discussing university regulations and acts related to the ongoing scientific and research activities at the university, and submitting appropriate recommendations to the academic council of the university.
e) review and approval of projects related to internal (university) funding of schools, research institutes, research centers, laboratories, departments, research groups and individual researchers.
f) review and approval of doctoral research projects.
g) development of criteria for review and approval of projects and doctoral research projects related to internal (university) funding and submission to the academic council of the university for approval.
h) development of rules for financing projects related to internal (university) financing, competition conditions and indicators for evaluating the progress and implementation of approved projects and submitting them for approval to the academic council of the university.
i) deciding on awarding a premium for scientific publications and conditions for journal selection in accordance with Appendix N1.
j) performing other functions determined by the director of the institute and/or the university management.
