პროექტის დასახელება: Fostering Regional and Local Development in Georgia, Phase 2
მოკლე აღწერა: 2- PROPOSED ACTIVITIES AND WORK PLAN The project consists of 6 stages: Stage 1. 1- day (7 hrs.) training “Tourism Business” will be provided for each municipality representatives, totally 280 beneficiaries will be selected from 7 municipalities, the training participants will be provided with the training materials and certificates at the end of the training. Stage 2. Filed visits, 2 months’ intensive practice/internship/vocational courses for project’s target Vocational group members (VET). Participants will be those who successfully passed the first training (Around 30 people from each municipality). Stage 3. 2-day (10 hrs.) Training in business plan writing for project’s target vocational group members (Around 20 people). The best business proposals (Could be individual or coalition plans) will be selected by the trainer and the committee members. The winners will have the opportunity to be provided with the special kits (According to the business ideas) needed for business development. Stage 4. Business Kits’ distribution for approved business plans. After presenting the business proposals, for each municipality there is set 12 000 Gel for purchasing the needed Kits ( If the individual plan will be presented the Kit purchasing amount is about 600 Gel, in case of group/coalition business plans the total amount (Fund) for purchasing Kits will depend on number of coalition group members). Stage 5. Creating businesses’ data base via gis technology (travelgis.ge) History of businesses (General info about the owner and photo materials) in Georgian and English languages will be created and uploaded on portal travelgis and shared among 70 countries and will be linked to the municipality's official website and Facebook page (Additinaly organization Tourism and Reality will guarantee to make the Facebook page specially for uploading project activities and results). Stage 6. Expo and Fair of business products, participants will be project’s target beneficiaries and businesses The fair will be organized at piazza of old Rustavi, the heads of municipalities, the representatives of tourism department at community level will be invited, the news will be spread via mass media networking. The target geographical area of the proposed project is Kvemo Kartli region. Target beneficiaries are/will be local residents (local community) business owners, agriculture/tourism sector stakeholders, ethnic minorities, women, people with disabilities, migrants/refugees and school children. The methodology of selecting the target beneficiaries: 40 Beneficiaries will be selected from 1 municipality including women, vulnerable, youth, ethnic minorities who are eager to develop start-up businesses and create job opportunities at local level (Municipality representative the head or the specialist of tourism department will be involved in the selection process too together with a project’s researcher/mobilizer)

საკითხის აქტუალობა: The grant has specific objectives: • Establishing cooperation among public/state, private and civil sector in search for sustainable solutions for local economic development • Raising awareness and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of municipalities • Strengthening workforce capabilities – training opportunities in business and tourism management, agriculture, economy and project management • Making vocational schools available for target beneficiaries • Business Kits for target beneficiaries to develop businesses • Marking Tourism businesses on a portal “travelgis”
მოსალოდნელი სიახლე: The anticipated impact that the project will bring about in a long-term perspective on local economic development, target groups and beneficiaries is as follows: • Improved socio-economic conditions of local population at regional level • Overcoming informational vacuum and raising awareness about the potential resources and the role of use and inclusion of resources as offers for small business development • Increased job opportunities for young generational and migration mitigation and poverty reduction • Agricultural and tourism sector development • 280 people (Including women, young generation, ethnic minorities, vulnerable groups) are directly benefitting from grant activities • 1120 people (Raised awareness and the culture of managing and rational use of potential community resources) are indirectly benefitting from grant activities
